There’s a lot of doubt that Kevin McCarthy will be able to get enough votes to become Speaker. It certainly won’t happen on the first ballot. Already Boboert and MTG are publicly at odds over it.

Maybe this is worth it’s own thread to watch. One person mentioned is Scalise.

Yep with 7 votes to Donalds already, looks like we'll go to a 5th vote.

I'd love for Johnson to state something like "We don't care about your grandstanding, just state the name" when they try to grandstand on their 3 second time in the light.

Just like with Yahoo's front page:

If moderate R’s want the Dems to play ball? Make it equal members on all committees and the chairs of the intelligence and budget committees and you got a deal.

And please let the R’s be so stupid as to vote present enough to lower the vote to 212 and accidentally electing Jeffries the Speaker

One R just voted “present” last time.

So I just noticed that the one "Present" Republican vote was from Spartz. She's also Ukranian. I'll admit I don't know anything about her, so this is speculation on my part, but is she possibly holding out on guarantees for aid to Ukraine?

Other than it being our government that these clowns are driving off a cliff, the schadenfreude is delicious.

The R’s pissed down their leg worse than 28-3.

Doubt it. She has been quite critical of Zelensky and Kyiv in the past.

Ouch. Bobert just said Trump ought to call McCarthy to tell him to step aside instead of call them to support him.

    This is definitely personal.

I can't believe there aren't six sane and moderate GOP Reps that would be willing to break ranks and get some concessions for their districts in exchange for supporting Jeffries...

... wait. Yes, I can. forking GOP.
